Our History

In 2021, the club achieved several remarkable milestones, including a record 616 players and 37 teams, of which 8 were female teams. This year also marked the first time a Male Development Officer was appointed and the club was officially designated a Junior Girls Club by Rugby League Brisbane (RLB).

2020 was challenging due to the shortened season and restrictions imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite these difficulties, it was a landmark year with the introduction of an Under-12 Girls Team, setting a record with 5 female teams, and the first appointment of a Female Development Officer. Additionally, the club saw the Brisbane Veterans RLFC operating out of its grounds for the first time. A new logo, designed in 2019, was also implemented this year.

In 2019, the club celebrated the formation of its first Women’s Team in 19 years and was honoured with the "Good Sports Club" certificate. This year also witnessed the Senior Northside 1's winning the prestigious Ted Beaumont trophy for the first time.

The year 2018 was notable for the club as it recorded 519 players and 34 teams, marking the first year to field Senior Northside 1, 2, and 3 teams and to have 3 female teams. It was also the club's 40th Anniversary.

In 2017, the club won the Brisbane 2nd Division Senior "Club of the Year" award, reflecting its outstanding performance and commitment to excellence.

The club's excellence was further recognised in 2016 when it received the "Club Efficiency Award" from Rugby League Brisbane.

By 2014, the club had reached a significant financial milestone of $1,000,000 in grants. It also won the Brisbane 2nd Division Senior "Club of the Year" award.

In 2012, the club achieved its first Pine Cup win. 

The year 2011 was a landmark as the club fielded teams in every age group from Under-6s to Masters for the first time.

In 2009, the club's dedication to junior development was recognided when it won the Brisbane Junior Rugby League "Club of the Year" award.

A new chapter began in 2004 with the formation of the Pine Central Holy Spirit RLFC, following the end of the Brothers/Holy Spirit venture in 2003.

The club received its first grant in 1998, marking a significant step in its development.

The amalgamation of Holy Spirit RLFC with Brothers in 1994 was a pivotal moment in the club’s history.

In 1991, Barry Larsen was inducted as the club's first Life Member, honoring his significant contributions.

The official opening of the clubhouse in 1987 coincided with the formation of the club’s first senior team, and a year earlier, the Pine River Shire Council granted the club its first lease.

The club celebrated its first premiership in 1982, having established its home ground at Holy Spirit School, Bray Park, a year after its founding in 1981.

The Holy Spirit Club was founded in 1979 by Don Hurren and John Guifoyle, with Corbett Park, Brothers, serving as the first home ground.

Pine Central Holy Spirit RLC is a not for profit organisation which is run by a Management Committee and a Sub Committee. The Management Committee and Sub Committee comprises of volunteer parents who are duly elected or appointed.
